The power of Windows Vista includes portable stereo speakers and a microphone, a webcam, 802.11n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 56k modem, optional Bluetooth, two USB ports and a standard USB / eSATA combo port, ExpressCard slot A multi – in-one media card reader, and HDMI and VGA outputs. Gmail out of betaGoogle Apps is finally out of beta, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk.The software giant does defend its decision to keep the beta versions of its apps around for so long, saying it differs from the traditional definition of beta as its Google Apps have service level agreements, 24/7 support and standards that meet or exceed non-beta software. Software tagged beta traditionally represents an unfinished product that is still being tested for bugs.

Gateway introduced its NV series notebook sporting a 15.6-inch display and starting at $499.99.

The Gateway NV comes in a variety of configurations that include the AMD Athlon 64 X2, AMD Turion X2 or Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 500GB of hard drive space, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive, a built-in web camera, an HDMI output, and Dolby Sound Room technology. The models with AMD CPUs feature the ATI Mobility Radeon 3200 HD graphics, whereas the Intel-based systems include the GMA 4500MHD GPU.

dell_vostro_1220Dell Japan have officially announced the Vostro 1220 12.1-inch ultraportable laptop, aimed at budget-minded business users.

Starting at 3.36 pounds, the Dell Vostro 1220 features the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel’s GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR2 system memory, up to 500GB of hard drive or up to 128GB of solid state drive storage, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray Combo drive.There’s also a choice of 160GB 5,400rpm or 250/320GB 7,200rpm hard-drives, a DVD burner and gigabit ethernet, together with WiFi a/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. A webcam and microphone are integrated into the display bezel, plus there’s a fingerprint reader for security.

It’ll go on sale in Japan from today, priced from 79,980 yen ($838).
