The Asus N61, a new 16-inch laptop that belongs to the multimedia-oriented Asus N Series, is now available in the US.
Newegg offers the Asus N61Vg-X1 model, featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.20GHz processor, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 220M 1GB dedicated video card, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB hard drive and a DVD burner.Asustek says the N61 is equipped with the exclusive SonicMaster design, which features a dedicated resonance space arrangement that provides sound layering for better audio reproduction.
With its default 6-cell battery, the entertainment notebook weighs 6.5 pounds.
The N61Vg-X1 runs Windows Vista Home Premium and is currently priced at $799 after instant savings.

Dell Japan have officially announced the Vostro 1220 12.1-inch ultraportable laptop, aimed at budget-minded business users.
Starting at 3.36 pounds, the Dell Vostro 1220 features the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel’s GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR2 system memory, up to 500GB of hard drive or up to 128GB of solid state drive storage, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray Combo drive.There’s also a choice of 160GB 5,400rpm or 250/320GB 7,200rpm hard-drives, a DVD burner and gigabit ethernet, together with WiFi a/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. A webcam and microphone are integrated into the display bezel, plus there’s a fingerprint reader for security.
It’ll go on sale in Japan from today, priced from 79,980 yen ($838).

Acer has recently launched the first computer based on NVIDIA’s ION platform. The AspireRevo is based on a low-performance, low-cost 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor but draws on the 9400M-based graphics to run apps and content that are ordinarily impossible on Intel’s reference hardware. Other features include up to 4GB pg DDR2–800 (dual channel), up to 250GB of storage, 4:1 Flash card reader, VGA out, HDMI, 4x USB 2.0, and eSata. Measuring 180mm x 1870mm x 30mm, the device also supports 1080p videos, output 7.1 surround sound audio and is compatible with DX 10 graphics.
Nothing on price yet, but expect to pay between $350 and $450.
