LG GW550 Windows Mobile QWERTY Smartphone

LG has announced a new business-oriented smartphone at CommunicAsia 2009. Dubbed as the GW550, the phone comes in a candybar form-factor and features front-facing QWERTY keyboard, that reminds me of the Nokia E71x. The LG GW550 also has a non-touch-sensitive 2.4-inch display with QVGA resolution, a 3MP camera, stereo speakers, HSDPA 7.2Mbps (HSUPA 2.0Mbps) connectivity and 1300mAh battery.

The LG GW550 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 3-megapixel camera and 7.2Mbps HSDPA / 2Mbps HSUPA with support for the 850/1900/2100MHz bands.

Samsung New Xplorer B2100 candybar handset

samsung_xplorerSamsung  announced the upcoming release of  its Xplorer B2100 candybar handset.The candybar cell phone meets Military Standard compliance for durability, is wrapped with a resistant urethane material, and is submersible in water. The quadband GSM handset offers basic functionality, as there is no 3G data network support, with just 7MB of built-in storage that is offset by a microSD memory card slot. The 1.77-inch screen has 120×160 resolution, while a 1.3-megapixel camera captures still and moving images.There’s also Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1,000mAh battery good for 9hrs talktime or 600hrs standby

Philips New Xenium X810 Mobile Phone

philips_x810Philips seems to be on a roll this time round, with the Xenium X810 being their latest arrival to the world of cell phones. the new Philips Xenium X810 comes around with a TFT touchscreen display that is able to provide a 240 x 400 pixel resolution. At the same time, the Xenium X810 handset also includes a long-lasting battery, which should be able to offer its users about a month of standby time.The whole thing measures 104 x 52 x 14.4 mm and weighs a mere 100g.

Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman Phone

sony-ericsson-w395Sony Ericsson has confirmed the new affordable W395 Walkman phone that has a 2MP camera, Bluetooth, a couple of stereo speakers, dedicated control keys for music, and FM Radio. Each purchase will come with a 1GB memory card and HPM-64 Stereo headset. Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman Phone.

The Walkman music player application itself is fully featured, and includes stereo widening and a built-in equalizer function. Of course album art is also supported, as are A2DP Bluetooth stereo wireless headphones and speakers. Music can be stored on the included 1GB memory Stick Micro (M2) card or in the phone’s 10MB of internal storage.

Other features of note include a built-in HTML browser, a speakerphone, and a vibration alert for when the MP3 ringtones just aren’t enough. Sony Ericsson says that the W395 Walkman’s battery should be good for up to 8 hours of talk time, a whopping 20 days of standby time, or 12.5 hours of continuous music playback. The phone works on all four of the major GSM/EDGE network bands, weighs 96g (3.4oz), and should start showing up in select markets by the end of March. No word yet on pricing.

HTC Launches HTC Touch Cruise with Footprints Geotagging Software

htc-touch-cruiseHTC has announced a new version of the navigation oriented Touch Cruise smart device to be released worldwide beginning in the second quarter of the year.

The defining feature of the new Touch Cruise it its lets users tag photos with GPS location data and audio clips. The Touch Cruise comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, a microSD card slot, and—oddly, for a TouchFLO device—just QVGA (320-by-240-pixel) resolution instead of full VGA mode.

Pricing for the Touch Cruise will be $500-$600 but we’re going to update the price later on when a carrier will pick it up!

Nokia N79 Active

This belt allows you to monitor your heart rate while practicing so you can improve the way you train by staying focused on your training goals.

While you’re training you can listen to the music stored on the 4 GB microSD card you’ll find enclosed in the Nokia N79 Active pack. There will also be a pair of sports headphones and an armband which should make the Nokia N79 easier to wear while jogging.At the same time you can monitor your heart rate using the handset, again, and see if you need to step up or if it’s time for a little brake.
Other features include headphones, an armband, FM tuner, a 4GB microSD memory card for your songs and photos and integrates with the Nokia Music Store, which is not yet available in the US. The Nokia N79 Active will be available in select markets for approx. $492 before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia 6208 Classic touchscreen smartphone

Apparently the piece does not run on Symbian 9.4 S60 5th Edition but may come with an S40 interface tweaked to work with a touchscreen. Specs on the device include a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Quad band GSM connectivity with GPRS, EDGE; 27MB of internal memory with MicroSD card support; 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. It weighs a mere 130 grams and measures 109.8 x 49.3 x 14.7 mm.Pricing details and date of arrival have yet to be released.

LG Electronics Introduced LG-SH490 Phone

lgThe Korean consumer electronics giant has rolled out its new LG-SH490 clamshell phone which is dubbed as the Make-up Phone. Available in Smoky Red, Deep Blue and Pearl White, you can choose up to 18 of their emoticons to be displayed on the front panel thanks to the LED animation lighting provided. You will also find VoIP support, a global roaming service, a 3 megapixel camera and a built-in electronic dictionary in the Make-up Phone. The LG-SH490 will be available only in Korea through SK Telecom for around $375 after conversion.

Motorola Aura luxury handset

motorolamotorolaMotorola AURA handset now available for purchase at Motorola USA’s webstore.The handset is priced at a lofty $2,000, thanks in part to its 62-carat, Grade 1 sapphire crystal lens that covers what is touted as the world’s first circular display, which offers 16 million colors and a 300ppi resolution.

Motorola claims its production takes nearly two weeks. The keypad consists of individual anodized aluminum keys.
