Dell Adamo XPS Ultra Thin Announced

 

Dell has announced the Adamo XPS,  13.4-inch an ultra-thin laptop with an innovative hinge.

According to the leaked specifications, the 1.5-pound Adamo XPS features Intel’s 1.4GHz or 1.9GHz ultra-low voltage processor, the GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 120GB of 180GB solid state drive with Windows 7 OS pre-installed, and two battery options: 20Wh for 2.5 hours or 40Wh for four hours of battery life. The notebook is reportedly 0.4 inch thin.

Sony VAIO X Lightest Notebook

Sony officially announced its VAIO X series, “the world’s lightest notebook”.

It features a 16:9 aspect ratio which means you get a wider workspace -all packed into a compact 11.1-inch (diagonal) footprint. And not only is the scratch-resistant LCD display durable, it also provides brilliant picture quality with 100 percent colour saturation and improved brightness, thanks to its LED backlight technology.

The X Series is also supplied with both a standard and super-extended capacity battery, delivering extra-long battery life for day-long productivity – up to 3.5 hours for the standard battery and up to 14 hours for the super-extended capacity battery.It is based on Intel’s “Menlow” platform and includes an Intel Atom Z550 2GHz processor, the GMA 500 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 64GB or 128GB solid state drive with Windows 7 pre-installed.

HP New Pavilion dv8, dm1, dm3 Laptops

Hewlett-Packard is going to release the HP Pavilion dv8 desktop replacement notebook, the Pavilion dm1 and dm3 ultraportables, and the Mini 311 netbook.

The more interesting HP Pavilion dv8 looks like it will have: an 18.4-inch display, an Intel Quad-Core Core i7 720QM CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 640GB HDD, and a Blu-ray drive.

The HP Pavilion dv8 features one of Intel’s next generation quad core CPUs – the Core i7 720QM – and an 18.4-inch display. The Intel CULV-based dm1 and dm3 include Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage chips and 11.6″ and 13.3″ screens respectively. Finally, the HP Mini 311 is built on NVIDIA Ion netbook platform. It has the Intel Atom N270 CPU and an 11.6-inch display.

Mini 311 netbook comes with a 11.6 inch display and build based on NVIDIA Ion netbook platform. Mini 311 is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor.

Nokia Booklet 3G laptop

Nokia has just launched their very first netbook, the Nokia Booklet 3G.

The Nokia Booklet 3G comes with an Intel Atom processor, plus a 10 inch LCD display, which Nokia are calling ‘HD ready’ so I presume it will be able to playback HD content.
Weighing no more than 2.75 pounds, the 0.78″ thin Booklet 3G features a 10.1-inch 1280×720 display, the Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, a “fanless” chipset design, 1GB of “soldered down” DDR2 memory, a 120GB 1.8″ hard drive with Windows 7 OS pre-installed, and a battery life of “up to 12 hours with normal daily use”.

Nokia’s first netbook will be priced at around $810 reportedly. The company didn’t provide info on availability date.

Dell New Vostro 1014, 1088, 1015 Laptops

Dell has announced the 14-inch Vostro 1014 and 1088 and the 15.6″ 1015, the new affordable laptops for business users.

The notebooks include LED backlight displays, Intel’s Core 2 processors, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 320GB of hard drive space, optional web cameras, an “improved battery life”, and various color options. The Vostro 1014 and 1015 feature the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, whereas the Vostro 1088 sports the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB GPU.Their prices start from at £293 ($483/€342) with Vat.

The company has released two new HP laptop from the line of Essential – Compaq 515 and Compaq 610. Both models focused on the business segment and are fairly inexpensive, at least in the basic configuration. HP Compaq 515 equipped with 14-inch display with a resolution 1366h768 points and processors based on AMD Athlon X2 or Turion X2, and uses an integrated graphics ATI Radeon HD 3200. Notebook HP Compaq 610 – size, it is equipped with 15.6-inch display with a resolution 1366h768 points. This model is built on Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 or Celeron T1500 and equipped with an integrated graphics card Intel GMA X3100. In addition, the laptop is equipped with up to 3 GB of RAM, hard drive capacity up to 250 GB and DVD-drive. Wi-Fi adapter and the optional web-camera is also available. The 15.6-inch Compaq 610 is available with an Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron Dual-Core processor, Intel’s GMA X3100 integrated GPU, up to 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB HDD, and a DVD burner.

Gateway NV series notebook

Gateway introduced its NV series notebook sporting a 15.6-inch display and starting at $499.99.

The Gateway NV comes in a variety of configurations that include the AMD Athlon 64 X2, AMD Turion X2 or Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 500GB of hard drive space, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive, a built-in web camera, an HDMI output, and Dolby Sound Room technology. The models with AMD CPUs feature the ATI Mobility Radeon 3200 HD graphics, whereas the Intel-based systems include the GMA 4500MHD GPU.
